Cookie Policy

Last updated: 7 June 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how you interact with pages. We use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to operate our platform, improve your experience, and understand how our website is used.

2. Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.

  • Authentication cookies (Supabase) - keep you signed in and protect your session
  • CSRF tokens - prevent cross-site request forgery attacks
  • Cookie consent preference - remember your cookie choices

Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors find and use our website. They only run after you accept analytics cookies.

  • PostHog - privacy-friendly product analytics to understand page views, feature usage, and conversion funnels. No personal data is shared with third parties.
  • Google Analytics - aggregate website traffic and acquisition reporting (how people arrive at our site and which pages they view).
  • HubSpot - helps us see which companies visit our site so our team can follow up with relevant prospects. HubSpot runs without setting any cookies until you accept. It only sets cookies once you give consent.
  • Vercel Analytics - measures page performance and loading speed (Core Web Vitals).

Advertising Cookies

These cookies are only set after you accept. They help us reach people who have already visited our site.

  • Google Ads - lets us show relevant ads to past visitors (remarketing). These cookies stay switched off until you give consent. We never sell your data.

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation.

  • Calm Mode preference - remembers your preference for reduced motion and simplified visuals
  • Theme preference - stores your light/dark mode choice

3. Third-Party Cookies

We embed a Calendly scheduling widget on certain pages. Calendly may set its own cookies when you interact with the booking form. These cookies are governed by Calendly's privacy policy.

We use Google Ads for remarketing, but only after you accept advertising cookies. We never sell your data, and we do not share it with ad networks for their own purposes.

4. The OpenScouter Browser Extension

The OpenScouter browser extension does not use cookies. During active testing sessions, it stores a temporary session token in the extension's local storage. This token is deleted when the session ends. The extension does not read, modify, or access cookies from the websites being tested.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the platform.

To manage cookies in common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions

6. Data Retention

Authentication cookies expire when your session ends or after 7 days of inactivity. Analytics cookies are retained for up to 12 months. Functional preference cookies persist until you clear them.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

8. Contact

For questions about our use of cookies, contact us at privacy@openscouter.com.
